Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers — Faculty of Languages
The Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers department is committed to providing learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds with the skills needed to communicate effectively in Arabic, both in speech and in writing. Designed for all proficiency levels, the program offers a comprehensive and progressive approach to mastering Modern Standard Arabic while introducing elements of regional dialects for practical communication.
The curriculum focuses on developing the four essential language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—supported by systematic grammar instruction and vocabulary building. In addition, students gain deep insight into Arab culture, history, literature, and traditions, enabling them to understand the language in its rich social and cultural context.
Through interactive teaching methods, including conversation practice, multimedia resources, role-play, and cultural immersion activities, students build confidence and fluency. Digital tools and online learning platforms are integrated into the program, allowing learners to practice pronunciation, improve comprehension, and connect with native speakers in authentic settings.
Specialized modules prepare students for recognized Arabic language proficiency tests, opening doors to academic advancement and professional opportunities in diplomacy, translation, journalism, education, tourism, and international business. Graduates leave the program with strong linguistic skills and cultural competence, ready to engage meaningfully with the Arab world in academic, professional, or personal contexts.
